The National Tourism Careers Expo 2018 - Registration OPEN
The National Tourism Careers Expo (NTCE) is expected to attract over 9 000 learners, tourism students, graduates and educators during the three days. The interactive exhibition is designed to showcase the exciting career opportunities available in tourism and hospitality.
The NTCE, which will run from 1 to 3 October 2018 at the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (PACOFS) in Bloemfontein, is a partnership event under auspices of the Free State Tourism Authority (FSTA), an agency mandated to tourism marketing and promotion in the Free State, National Department of Tourism (NDT), the Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA) and Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Education and Training Authority(CATHSSETA). This year’s expo is celebrated under the theme: “Tourism Alive with opportunities”. The Free State Province has won the hosting of the expo for the next three years and this year (2018) is the first year. The NTCE continues to be the driver of the National Tourism Sector Strategy’s which aims to creating 225 000 tourism jobs by 2020, and ensuring there are sufficient numbers of skilled people to fill these positions.
During the expo popular highlights will include:
• Specialised areas within the expo that will cater to each of the sectors of tourism and hospitality
• Speakers Corner, where tourism entrepreneurs and industry experts will share their success stories and allow learners and students to interact directly with the speakers.
• A job placement and recruitment service will also be made available to the learners
• Private sector companies will exhibit at the expo where they will provide interactive, edutainment experiences for the learners and further show their commitment to skills development by offering a number of bursaries, learnerships and internships to learners attending the expo.

The NTCE is directly aimed at high school and tertiary/FET learners (past and current) looking to enter or advance in the tourism industry.
The NTCE is not exclusively targeted at the learners – the educators are just as important as you are the drivers behind the tourism industry.
The Expo is open to all members of the public who are interested in tourism, whether you are currently in the industry or not.
The NTCE needs you to make this a successful and impactful experience for our future tourism candidates.
The NTCE requires the support of the industry at large. In order to be truly successful in its endeavours and encourage students who are currently studying in the field of tourism to attend.
The NTCE would like to encourage unemployed graduates to register on our data base.
